This page has been created to provide one central point for all relevant COVID-19 related information for parents.
Action to take if your child displays symptoms of COVID-19. The symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are:
- recent onset of new continuous cough or
- high temperature or
- a loss of, or change in, normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia)
Reporting COVID-related absence
If this is during the working week, please contact the school absence line as normal (01462 432181 option 1, or email) the school.
If this is at the weekend, please email email@example.com as it is crucial that we pick your message up over the weekend and act quickly to trace contacts.
If your child’s test is negative, they can return to school when they are well. However, if your child has been an identified close contact with a positive case, a negative test will not allow return to school – they must continue to isolate for the full 14 days (unless they have a subsequent positive test)
If your child’s test is positive, they will need to self-isolate for 10 days from the date when their symptoms started. All their household members must self-isolate for 14 days.
The date of symptom onset is day zero.
Government guidance on close contacts
If you have been in close contact with, but do not live with, a person who has tested positive for COVID-19, here is a link to the guidance you should follow. This may include people in your support bubble.
If you need to self-isolate, you must do it. Information on exactly what self-isolation means can be found on the Hertfordshire County Council website.
More information is also available on the leaflet 'What is Self-Isolation?' which can be downloaded here and also the right hand side.
We have implemented a one-way system around the school and all students have been given a copy of the school plan with the one-way system clearly marked. A copy can be downloaded here.
