Hitchin Boys’ School Sixth Form is part of a consortium of three secondary schools in Hitchin, which also includes Hitchin Girls’ School and The Priory School. The three schools work together to enable over 700 students to have access to a wide range of academic and vocational courses. Students joining the Sixth Form are encouraged to follow a broad, challenging curriculum. Most students will select three courses for their studies from over thirty-five different A level or vocational courses available across the consortium.
The standard entry requirement for the Hitchin Sixth Form Consortium is five Grade 9-4 GCSEs or equivalent including English and Maths at Grade 4 or above. Most subjects will have additional entry requirements and all have a recommended GCSE Average Points Score (APS), which can be used as a guide when looking at post-16 choices.
More details of the courses on offer across the consortium and the entry requirements needed can be found in the current prospectus. Our Hitchin Schools' Sixth Form Consortium website contains a presentation from our Headteacher Mr Moane, and our Head of Sixth Form Mrs Christou, plus a course overview and video for each of the courses offered at HBS.
