At Hitchin Boys’ School we actively promote the fundamental British Values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.

These are fundamental to the ethos of the school and the way we work with and treat each other. They are evident in our House system, our Student Voice elections and their meetings, our Behaviour Policy, our regular assemblies, our charitable work at all levels of school, our Religious Studies programme for all and our many links with the immediate and wider community.

British Values are also promoted throughout the curriculum both inside and outside lessons and through discrete Personal Social and Health Education lessons and daily tutorials delivered by tutors, ensuring that all students receive a broad and balanced experience that helps prepare them for life in modern Britain.
