Message from departing Head Teacher Mr Brown
Dear parents and carers
As a final communication to all of our community I just wanted to leave you with a word of thanks.
During my time as Headteacher approximately 3,000 boys have attended Hitchin Boys’ School. In that time we have been lucky enough to have the support of all but the tiniest minority of parents. Great teachers and hard work are the major element of a successful school, but a supportive parent body is the key to a brilliant school.
At a leaving event last night our Head Boy, Henry McElroy, turned a phrase back to me which I have often used to the boys. He said: “Mr Brown, you’ll always be a Hitchin Boy.” For me that is something to be grateful for and hopefully your children will always feel the same way too.
Thank you to every single one of you for working together with us to help your little boys turn into young men of whom we can all be proud.
Best wishes
Mr Brown
